Default So some relatives went to Sweden

Apparently my great - grandfather immigrated from Kronika Sweden to the United States in the 20's. My name is Anderson but he changed our name from Swenson (Svenson?) to Anderson for some reason. Not much is known because he died when my grandfather was only 12 and he doesn't remember much at all. We only found out 15 years ago when my grandfather found his dads bible and it was in Swedish and referenced him with the last name Svenson.

So some relatives went over and found record of our family in Kronika. I can't seem to find where that is. I have plans to visit them soon to discover what they found out but i'm curious.

Any Swedes on this forum?

re: Kronika; you could be right. My grandfather was telling me the story of the phone tonight, and he explained how they (our relatives) went to the equivalent of the county seat and found reference to our family in these huge books that were 4' by 4' roughly in dimension.

So he then goes on to explain that he can't remember the name of the town. He said grandmother wrote it down... Soooo He goes to get the paper she wrote it down on and mutters something about kranika or kronika and i ask him if that's the town and he says "Oh yes, that's it!" Well, he gets the note and decides he cannot decipher grandmothers writing Heh...

So i think i'll need to just wait and talk to the actual relatives who went over there.

As for Springfield: I live on 7th off of centennial. I work at the 9-1-1 center at 2nd and chambers in Eugene Good to see another duck on the forum! *edit* Hey, sorry to hear about your dog. I have two dogs myself and love them dearly. Niki was a fine one!

Svenson? That always sounded like a common Swedish surname to me. I'm glad you were able to pin it down as well as you did. I didn't have as much luck with Hallen. (I guess that's like "Smith" over there)

Ah ha...

I think i know where you work. A friend of mine at the 9-1-1 center just got a job there a couple of weeks ago. So far he likes it from what i understand.

We should link up sometime since we're in the same time zone and play some multi-player SH3. Although i won't have nearly as much time for gaming until i go back to an evening shift after June.
