Not a biggie I don't think really. I've never run out myself since installing TM (prior to that using stock fuel levels is a different matte) - I always tend to top off the tanks whenever I'm within 1000 miles or so of a tender just to be sure though. As long as you're not going on round the world cruises I doubt it's making that much of an impact really.

If a sub back then had been short of fuel on the homeward leg, a tanker or tender would have been dispatched to assist. You probably even could have knocked over a few diesel engine sampans for some spare juice. So in that light unlimited fuel isn't all that unrealistic.

You play with more realism than I do. In SH3 I'm still using external views and Weps assistance. Can't play SH4 still.

I don't think anybody really puts down anybody else for playing at lower levels, even very low ones; I at least usually only snap at the ones who brag about how good they are while playing the easy way.

LOL i wasnt looking for support! i'm simply just coming clean! and i really feel better now.

i figure i worry about fuel enough in my real life job, why stress about it at home when im relaxing

and i also shall confess.....i use external views, but with a game this beautiful, how could you not?

Always play differently really, sometimes 75-100% realism, sometimes 0 :P

Depends on if i wanna have some quick fun or some hard playing hours

I accidentally bottomed out my sub south of Saigon when diving to avoid aircraft and even though I only had 1% hull damage, I gradually ran out of fuel faster than I normally would. When I realized I was leaking fuel, it wasn't enough to get back to New Guinea. Bad end to a good career and not a realistic situation.

I would like to see a mod where another sub or a tender comes to your aid to help with repairs, spare some fuel, tow you home... anything but running out of gas.

I use unlimited fuel to shorten the time of the patrols. I hate waiting 5+ minutes to load a save file because I've been out to sea for two months and so much activity has been rendered. Also means I spend less time getting to the patrol area and dodging planes so I can get into action quicker.

I play at low realism level, just because I play this game for not too long now. I am happy that I can hit something. But I am working on my manual targeting skills with a self-made mission, sinking 4 different kinds of ships.
Getting even 1 hit on a well protected convoy is still hard for me.

I really don't like the limit of fuel. If I want action, I want that, without having the limit of fuel. So you are not really alone

I like to play at the higher realism levels, but I also have to confess that I always select unlimited fuel.

To me it is bad enough to get across the pacific at flank speed and TC 2K+ I can't imagine doing that at 1/3 speed.

I never use the external view but I am addicted to my event view. To me there is nothing more exciting than watching my torpedo's progress and see that lovely rusty hull merge into view. ahhh

I enjoy high realism settings too, although I must admit that I've never sailed without external cameras available. With the stunning beauty of ROW, how could anyone restrict themselves? My hard drive is filled to the brim with screenshots, and there's no end in sight! SH4 just keeps getting more and more gorgeous!
