Default New mission with a couple questions....

Just left Kiel on my 5th or 6th mision, cant remember which for sure on my way to area BF 44.Now for the questions from the pros.

1st.I got a message saying my operation area untill further notice is 3000 BE right half square and 1000 BF left half square.Could someone elaborate a little on this for me?I think i know but not really sure.

2nd and im pretty sure the answer to this one but ill ask anyways.I got another message saying there will be a convoy at the mouth of the English Channel on the 13 and 14,well actually 2 seperate convoys on the days,is the strait of dover a option to reach this area beings i only have 3 days to get there?I know i cant make it by going all the way up around the islands

Howdy,

the 1st question: it's probably an immersion-type message that won't impact the renown you'll get for your patrol, but you could still follow BDU's directives if you wish

2nd question, you still won't make it in 3 days even through the Strait of Dover, unless you stay surfaced and go flank speed all the way, but that's going to take an awful lot of diesel and is very risky

I'm also assuming that, it being your 5th or 6th patrol you're still in 1939 or early 1940, if so the Strait might be passable, after that I'd not recommend it unless you like MTBS and planes

I don't think you'll be able to intercept that particular convoy, but don't worry there's plenty more where that came from, odds are you'll have run out of eels before even reaching the BF grids

Good hunting

Thnk for the reply and u are right ,lol,i didnt even make it to the BF area with any eels left. The western coast of Scapa flow is littered with merchants and such.I think one could sit there and sink so many ships u could make a walkway across the flow .Thnx again for the reply
