Hi all,
I just go my new rig set up and the one of the first things I installed was, of course, SHIV. But I have encountered a problem I didn't have on my old system, and I can't figure it out and am looking for help. I installed SHIV to F:\program files\etc. (same as on the old system). I then patched to 1.4 I ran the game, all seems to be working well. I installed JSGME and ran it. I installed, using JSGME TM 1.7.6 I installed, using JSGME TM sound pack Now when I run the game the following happens: 1) It runs some update utility which reports and error and stops (it may have done this before the JCGME, I only started the sim a few times and I may not have noticed it). 2) Once is the game, I can see that I am running 1.4, but there is no mention of TM being installed. There used to be an entry in the main selection list about TM, but there is nothing now. 3) If I start launch a career, all seems to go well, except that I hear at intervals "passing themal layer", even though I am running on the surface. 4) If I run a sub school mission, I don't hear the above message repeated ad nauseum. I am running with the original DVD in the DVD drive (SATA as opposed to IDE on the old system). JSGME shows that TM is installed. So why don't I see TM in game, and why am I getting the thermal layer message repeatedly. I don't really want to re-install unless I have to. Any ideas? Thanks,
