Hi
Since I've started using GWX 2.0, I've noticed that TC is so slow it makes the game too slow to enjoy. I spend ages waiting for the boat to get out of the Kiel Canal then it only speeds up once imn out in the ocean. Near land the game really crawls. Does anyone know a way to speed the TC up or make it smoother? Also does anyone know a good fatigue to use, I used Rub x1 as it gave a nice drop in fatigue over long period but only problem was that crewmen didnt recover in quarters. Is there a way to make crewmen recover in their quarters when using Rub x1 Fatigue Config? All answers appreciated as Im now at the point of packing it in and playing a smoother game. I have changed my hardware from an AMD XP Athlon to a Dual Core Athlon running at 1.6 Ghz and an 8600GT Nvidia Card. Surely game should run faster or is it the upgrade from GWX 1.03? Thanks Rasher |

High TC might be exactly what causes the lag. Its a known issue that near land your fps drops significantly. If you can count the frames then its time to lower the TC. You ll go smoother and actually faster than with high TC and low fps. I m afraid I don't have a golden recipe right now except hardware upgrade.

Use SH3 Commander and disable all fatigue.
SH3 does a terrible job of simulating any form of realistic "shift change" or "rotation" between crew members resting and working. for me... i got so tired of micromanaging my crew that this was the only way to go. in real life you have a rotation where one watch sleeps while the other goes on duty. SH4 does this job almost perfectly... SH3 does not. I would think that most u-boat crews could stand a month at sea without experiencing a great deal of fatigue to the point that the boat can no longer function. SH3 commander's no fatigue option is one of the best options of the program.

Goldenrivet gave you your answer with the no fatigue option. If your game is dragging near ports your equipment( computer) needs an upgrade in memory or your processor is too slow or your video card isn't what it used to be.....either/or the lite harbor traffic will help immensly but you will miss some gr8 ships taking that route.

but you still have to micromanage your crew. and every 8 hours the captain didnt delegate a new shift or "watch"... IRL everyone knows their rotation and sticks to it... this is not the case in SH3 , therefore in SH3 you must hold every sailors hand and make sure he is in the right place at the right time and i simply dont enjoy that apsect of the game. this is one area where SH4 outshines SH3 by a wide margin -crew management.
