Default [REQ] Time-stamped Navmap Marks

...so each pencil mark shows the time (and even date if possible :hmm: ) that it was made.

Anyone think this is possible? Would be extremely useful

It's possible to edit them out-of-game by text-editing. Ingame I doubt it.

[edit: I forgot to add, it's in the savegame .map file]

I'd also love to have this feature

I make do by keeping a brief paper log during my patrol and noting down main events and locations. I can then cross-reference it with points on the map and work out what I need to. Bit of a pain though, especially when making points to calculate ship/convoy speeds over a long distance if I forget to note the time.

Fingers crossed but I fear not much hope

this would be exellent, i hate having to make some messy ass writing with the ruler tool, just to tell me i got a contact here at 0241, or w/e i need to write. its so barbaric and a pain in the ass. itd be twice as fast, easier, and much better and professional looking if there was a free hand tool. it could be like the ruler tool, except you would beable to curve the lines andwhatnot.

I thought of a workaround. I'll share it in case others find it useful.

When I get a contact report I always draw a line from it in the reported direction, and then draw a "corridor" 22 degrees wide. Assuming the contact does not change course, it will be somewhere in this corridor.

I then draw a circle 16km in radius (because I play with 16km Atmosphere) to act as an indication of maximum spotting distance and give me an idea of how close to that corridor I need to get.

Recently I started drawing two circles instead of one (the extra circle being an 8km circle inside the first circle, indicating visibility in light fog or at night time) and that's what gave me the idea of drawing a clock

The "hands" of the clock show a time of 8:20. Neat huh?

The circle-drawing tool makes this really easy because on it's inner ring it already has the 12 points of the circle marked (0, 30, 60, 90, 120... )

Awesome solution, OLC... far away from your request, yet a useful workaround!

That does have the advantage of allowing for 24hr times :hmm:

You are a genius! Remarkably elegant and simple!

The solution by Mikhayl is indeed perhaps more useful and simple, but it's not as... well... 'sexy' :hmm:

Though I'm sure it's possible to make another small mark or circle next to the clock to indicate AM or PM, a bit like the dot you sometimes see on digital alarm clocks.

Indeed brilliant! However, now I need to re-learn how analog clocks work. Digitals are so much simpler.
