I wonder how he came to be in possion of the flag? :hmm:It would have been an interesting story.

Just wish I could convince my wife to let me buy it! But at the price it finished at (US$2,210) I would have an uphill fight on my hands!

The auction said down in the questions that it was in an estate sale from one of the sailors.

the bid history is fishy though, one person bumping up the bids minutes apart.

THat is normal. You put $10K in there and ebay will bump up the bid automatically for you.

I bought a model off ebay the other day for $10bucks...HMS Prince of Wales....I have always like models and am going to try my hand at putting them together.

I am really a surface dweller at heart but enjoy learning the sub side of things for games so I have walked in those shoes...I enjoy playing DD's and Corvettes and hunting down the bottom feeders.

Subs are tough but there is nothing like a group of DD's raining down cans of death on poor helpless subbies...
