Default US Warships

I was just flicking through the Museum in SH3 looking at the US ships, and then it occurred to me and I had to ask this question: Has anyone ever seen a US task force or warship travelling in convoy and actually managed to sink it???

Do you have a good chance of potentially sinking a big US battleship if u can find a task force off the US coast?

Potentially yes! A good place to hunt should be near the Panama Canal. That's where they gotta go to transfer to the Pacific to fight your Japanese allies. The US also kept some battleships in the Atlantic to help keep on eye on the Tirpitz and for use in Operations Torch and Overlord.

Once i late 1941 i was not far of Iceland in the night and bad weather and i came across a convoy I managed to sink a large merchant and sneak out the back of the convoy then surfaced and spoted a destroyer so i dived to periscope depth and realized that i was in the middle of a US task force with two cruisers of the Brooklyn class and a battleship of the Colorado class (I think but i can't remeber for certain) also numberous destroyers. I had a clear shot at the battleship and tempting as it was i dived and let it go. (They weren't best pleased about the Ruben James let alone a battleship) .
Also on the east coast of the USA I've often come across a task force with destroyers and a Essex class aircraft carrier after the US join the war.

in 1940, i torped a brit merchant in the north sea, and an american destroyer attacked me

is this a glitch or something or is this supposed to happen? this was in stock SH3

Im a one U-boat wolfpack. Ive hit the bottom of the Mediterranian at 250 metres in my VIIC and brought that babe back up, and still made it back to La Spezia. Ive sunk more destroyers than I have merchants...youll wish you never sailed into U-87s hunting grounds. When you pull into port, dont lull yourself into a false sense of security, your mines and subnets are just a petty challenge for my crew and I.

Had you sank a US ship in the previous day ?
If you sink ANY neutral ship you become an enemy of that country for 24hours

Since we didn't include the Colorado class in GWX 2.0, the BB you saw was probably either Nevada or Iowa class. The Colorado, New Mexico, and North Carolina classes from SHIV are around for download though; I don't know if you have those added to your own installation.
