Default best interception plan from long distance ?

hi hunters,

i'm in a duck heading west when i get this - enemy war ship travelling 23kts north.

i want to have a go at intercepting, but i figure i'm only in a typeII top speed 11-12 knts, but i do have a good tank full.

what do you Kaleuns think ?

am i wasting time and fuel or is there an approach that works...?

cheers :hmm:

1st. I wouldn't even bother with single warships. Task force maybe. In a type II your best bet is hunting single merchants or a lucky spot on a convoy. There are no absolutes I mean once I luckily ventured upon a task force reported and sunk a carrier in a II.

2nd. When you post pictures try and convert them to .jpg first. That way they load faster.

You have no chance to intercept this ship.
- to fast.
- i think she turn to Scapa Flow before you catch she.

Go download MoBo and plot it up and see if you have any chance.

The best answer I know to your question is MoBo.
There s a forum about it under "Special projects" in the main forums page.

Hope this helps

For that warship heading north at 23kts, you'd need to make better than 30kts to meet up with him close to your waypoint. ...and that's assuming he's not on a patrol loop (ie. he continues straight ahead). For that report, I'd maybe head south into AN42 and see if BdU gives another update. Maybe you could catch up with him on the Easterly leg.

I s'pose the other option would be to remain on your plotted course and current speed. Then proceed south from your plotted waypoint in AN14 cruising slow and see if you can meet up with him on the next lap.

yeah... and I used MoBo.

Leave the warhips alone, and go for the nice big, slow merchants. Much easier targets to intercept.
