I got a couple of answers.
If you've got a wind speed of zero how can you have a direction? Plus you got no visual contact from your WO but the pop up for 'aircraft spotted'. Seems a bit simple, so that probably means I barking up the wrong tree!!

Aircraft Spotted = No Visual Contact (Oxymoron?)
I do believe that RADAR plays an important role here..... JIM

I tried editing the Night Modifier in AIRSTRIKE.CFG but still no luck in finding a fix. Any other ideas? .

It's not strictly a Trigger Maru issue; I've seen aircraft in the middle of the night just in vanilla 1.4 occasionally. It's hardly common, it's only happened a couple of times to me, and it's usually an Emily rather than a Zero.

Since I upgraded to 1.7.6 I have seen a LOT of night aircraft. Way more than I ever did with 1.7.5 or vanilla.

If they're radar equiped I'd say OK, but I don't think its the case...

The Kawanishi was an all-weather plane, so thats plausible. The A6m, though, not hardly.

I agree, I am on a patrol using TM 1.7.6 and I am getting air contacts on a average of 4 to 5 a night, 100-200 miles off the coast (a lot of Zeros). I started to shut down all radar to see if that helped but that had no difference. Now, I usually dive to PD and use my extended SD radar to track. Actually there is no real difference between night and day anymore!

I tried editing the Night Modifier in AIRSTRIKE.CFG but still no luck in finding a fix. Any other ideas? Instead of setting 0.0,use 0.01
