Totally enjoying RFB, RSRD, and ROW. Totally realistic and immersive. I'm on patrol in May 42' SW of Tokyo. My soundman picks up a merchant closeing on my position. I head towards that bearing, and soon the smoke fom a Large Passenger Carrier, and a Modern Composite Freighter becomes visible on the horizon.
After closeing on the surface, I order periscope depth. I set a perpendicular coarse to the targets. They are comeing closer. At 1500yds, I fire 3 torpedoes at the Large Passenger Carrier. Down scope. The stopwatch ticks away the seconds. Time for number one to impact. Nothing! Number two; Nothing! Now I'm pissed, and take a peak with the camera. Number three is heading right on coarse. I figure at least one hit. WRONG!! Number three glides harmlessly underneath the vessel, obviously due to a malfunctioning depth keeper in the torpedoes. All three ran deep! ![]() ![]() |
