Default sonar

If you are playing at 30% realism is there a need for the sgaret sonar? If so, what is the advantage of having it?

you can ping targets to determine approximate range in the hydrophone screen.

thats about it really, if you are not plotting your own solutions manually there is really not much poing in getting it IMHO

I guess it depends on what you want to do...and which realism settings you have turned on/off specifically.

I do not ever use active sonar...even though I play at 80%-90% (I leave map contacts updated unchecked and sometimes manual targetting unchecked).
