GWX torpedoes

Hi all:

Loving GWX 2.0, but have a question regarding torpedo attacks: I cannot for the life of me get one torp to hit/explode when fired at a ship in campaign mode...I have only been playing in 1940, with "dud torpedoes" and "no external camera" both checked. I have been getting odd behavior when sending firing solutions to the TDC (ie: when the torps are fired, the stopwatch will show a 2 or 3 minute time to impact, when the ship is actually only a thousand meters away). As i said before, I don't use the external cam, but maybe I should start, to see what I might be doing wrong...anyway, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Could this be a difficulty change in GWX 2.0? (great job, by the way, to all involved!). Thanks.

Not sure if this is the problem for you or not, but . . .

There sometimes is a quirk with torpedo speed settings. Before you leave the TDC (F6) make sure you click on the speed set button. You don't have to rechange the speed if you've already set it; just click on the button. Sometimes what happens is the game resets the torpedo speed to slow regardless of what you've actually set it for.

Are you doing manuel targeting?
Or Auto Targeting?
I admit, I am the worst of the worst when it comes to
hitting even the Great Island of England!!

I guess should have included that as well: I am using manual targeting...I haven't re-checked the speed settings before firing, but I'll give it a go. In the past I'd been getting pretty good at manual targeting, but seem to have hit a wall (I'm not sure if I could hit England at this point!). Thanks.

If your doing manuel targeting your better then me!!
I miss at auto Target!!


One thing I can say.
2.0 is a whole new ball game.
It's closer to what may have been real.
2.1 is just gonna get even closer!!!
