Hehe! I tell you what: as long as treatments of smoke-related diseases are not completely payed by the idiots alone causing them by smoking, and no longer are payed by money innocent non-smokers for health insurrances in general need to pay into the system - i like that idea they have in Calabasis!

I for one heartily welcome this. I don't want to tread on smoker's rights, but in this case I think the rights of non-smokers who have to live with them take precedence. Try to look at it from the perspective of some poor young non-smoking chap being stuck living next door to smokers - ever been there? Well, it's not pretty I tell you.

They passed this law in Maryland. No smoking inside rental apartments. It does stink up the halls and such. Smokers can smoke on their balcony if they want. Most applications for rentals ask if the person applying smokes. Getting to be like lepers really.
