How about a flagpole Icon on the top of the forums that we can drop to half staff on such occasions as with Dave.

(while thinking about this I thought smilies that dip their hats or the
flags for tales of our wounded crews might be appropriate also but
in a different sense)

I was thinking it'd be cool to get lots of people into Multiplayer SH4 and SH3, park their boats alongside each other, and record a salute with the guns, like during a military ceremony.

Well, that could work. Is there a Subsim flag? I think that's actually a good idea. Even better than using any National flag. Seems more appropriate and even heartfelt that way.

If no flag currently exists, it should be fairly simple to make up. As you implied, there's already a Subsim logo, just make it more...flag-like.
