Default SH3 sunk

After trying to re-install SH3 after accidently corrupting my install, I found that I had no record of my Direct2Drive purchase anywhere, and as such, cannot re-activate it.

Does anyone know where I can get a hard copy of the game in the US for cheap?

Amazon still has it. But use the Amazon link found here on the Sub Sim web page that way they get some funding back from Amazon.

Ya know i had a computer die after obtaining my copy of SH3 via IGN and Direct2Drive download. I went to thier site and signed in and found out they had a record of my purchase and was able to download a copy needing no activation code and allready patched to 1.4b at no cost. A few months back i FUBAR'D my game installation playing with mods and once again went back and downloaded the game for a 3rd time at no charge.

Hope that info helps ya

I recently reinstalled for GWX 2 and had issues with my D2D version of SH3 and Starforce activation (purchased in 12/06). I contacted D2D and they said to d/l it again, as the version they now have up has had starforce removed.

I burn my cut to DVD along with GWX 2, commander and the CD key text file, that way i have it all handy if need be.

Tool.

They have no record of my purchase. When I went and tried to send the request for the activation code, they asked for the confirmation code on my reciept (which I dont have, or cant find). It was also a required field, so no code = no SH3 activation.

I think Subsim can get you a copy for a nice price.

To be honest, thats plan B right now. I have no issues with buying from the Amazon link through here (or through Subsim for that matter), but I know for a fact that I bought something through Direct2Drive that I should still have access to. I dont see the point in spending more money on the same thing if I can still get it again.

I guess I should just email Direct2Drive and explain the situation. Hopefully they have a record somewhere.

Well, you can purchase via Amazon for 6 pounds, or 3 pounds 2nd hand. Where are you from? If from Europe, bol.com also has copies for 6 euros.

I understand not wanting to buy, but really, the result for 6 lousy euros is that you have an original on dvd and the lesson never to buy d2d.
