Default SD radars, Radio Antenna & Loop Antenna ...

Hi, all.
In game we have next Air Radars:
1) SD Radar (Early);
2) Improved SD Radar (Late);
3) SV Radar (AdvAirRadars).
For 1 and 2 radars, models are known and clear:

For 3 radar, i have found (in Sensors_sub_US.dat) only this suitable model, but it is called NSS_SS (_Head):

Is it correct?
I wish to know your opinion ...

P.S.
Ok. I am right ... It's right model for SV Radar ...
I have found SVRadar as UpgradePack in NSS_Balao.ups, NSS_Gato.ups, Equipment.ups and UpgradePacks.ups ...
And i have found NSS_SS (it's parent object for NSS_SS_Head) in NSS_Balao.sns and NSS_Gato.sns as cfg#R02... node (Air Radar)
and in Equipment.ups ...

Next ...

In game we have Radio Antenna (equipment).
This device is not functionally (does not work) ...
In Sensors_sub_US.dat i have found suitable model, but it is called NSS_IFF_01 (02). IFF it's Identification Friend or Foe, i think ... For example it's in Tambor CT as cfg#R03 ... I have found it (NSS_IFF_01) in Tambor, Gar and Gato ***.sns as cfg#R03 ...
I have found NSS_IFF_02 in NSS_Balao.sns ...

Is it correct?
And ...
If to make this antenna (NSS_IFF_01) rotating synchronously with SJ radar antenna (eye-candy), it will be correct or not?

And more ...
In Sensors_sub_US.dat i have found model of Loop Antenna.
This device is not functionally (does not work) too ...
And it is not used anywhere (i think)...???

P.S. I have found it in Porpoise, Sargo and Salmon ***.sns as cfg#R03 ...

What do you think about it?
For what purposes these devices are in game?

I know I've seen that loop antenna before... it shows up on one or more of the older fleet boats (Porpoise, Salmon, etc) when you upgrade to the mid-war tower.

That other antenna that's identified as IFF is actually a Radio Direction Finder I believe. IFF is just a transponder.

Yes, OK.

Anvart, take a look at the observation scope. Mine barely extends over the surface of the water. I run RFB/ROW. Not sure if these are the cause.

Not the radars. The second periscope or observation scope does not go above the water line. It does not extend far enough.

Sorry,
I do not understand about what you speak, at me in game (stock game with my mods) Obs peri's are OK for all sub's ...
Have you peri depth? And for what sub and conning you have this glitch?
If this glitch is only for concrete conningT that it's necessary to change coordinates (Y) of cfg#O03... node in Conning ***.dat ...
If this effect is for ObsPeri's of all sub's there can be mistake in Sensors_sub_US.sim (*.dat) file ... or bad position ObsPeri Camera (may be in Cameras.dat) ...

P.S.
Look Free Camera (F12), ObsPeri is a little above AttackPeri ...

OK.
I have answered some questions itself (see the green text) ...
One question has remained, for what purposes we have in game IFF and Loop antennas ...?
And about rotation ...

I believe this is an improved SJ reflecter head

Would be nice if you could get surface search to work on SD up-down mast.
SJ @ P/D,would be the cats meow,although it may be only late war historicaly correct

Actually, unlike SD radar, SV radar could pick up surface contacts:

Quote:

SV, SV-a, SV-1 SEARCH RADAR

Maximum reliable range. (miles):
Bombers, at 30,000 ft 7.5
Bombers, at 10,000 ft 10
Fighters, at 10,000 ft 12
Battleships 12.5
Cruisers 15
Destroyers 10
Submarines, surfaced 7.5

In game:
Late SD:
PreciseRange = 23000 m;
MaxRange = 111120;
MinHeight = 80;
MaxHeight = 5000;
ElevationMin = 359°;
ElevationMax = 90.

SV radar:
PreciseRange = 23000 m;
MaxRange = 12000;
MinHeight = 6;
MaxHeight = 2500;
ElevationMin = 359°;
ElevationMax = 60.

Anvart, you are correct, that is the SV radar antenna. It is similar but significantly larger than the late war SJ-1 antenna.

The object names are not always correct but those are not supposed to be seen by the public. The confusion is based on a wrongly labeled drawing in a book.

The actual SS antenna is relatively small and looks "identical" to the early - non slotted - SJ radar antenna. Not modelled but I guess you could make a "clone". The SS appeared after the war so it was not one of our targets.

The rest of the devices mentioned are just there to help recreate the look of US submarines going through wartimes changes.

Yes, but those are stock values, and they are way off the mark. RFB fixes that.
