Default 10 min. video of type 212

One year old, but I missed it, so this movie was new to me. Quite some visual stuff of the inside.

I also did not know that Pakistan wants to negotiate buying the 214. Needless to say I hate even thinking about that.

Yes, it increases the 209's submerged range by a factor of around 4x. 209 still is regarded as a very capable boat for it's size, and a very silent one. 209 still is one of Germany's export hits - after 30 years.

That's a beautiful sub. If I could get a good 3D artist to render that, I would have it on the next Almanac

Yes, the sexy looks of turret and upper deck is the main reason why I've got a crush on that boat. However, that is the upper part only. If you see the whole body, you see what an ugly fat lady it actually is.

any artist can find many visual inspirations here:

I have the revell model, but didn't build yet, because sometimes I can ruin beautifull models. Also like the door/hatch in the front of tower/sail.
Yes, finally Portugal gets new subs, even if there is much debate internaly about many things about arms forces material. Our old Daphné class subs...they must fell like type VII u-boats and the new would be the type XXI for the crews. I think.
