Somehow seeing the Flying Dutchman in the bright light of day just ain't right. It should be at night in a spooky storm with seawolves howling. :p

We thought about it, but it couldn't be done because of the dynamic nature of the campaign.

That's cool. Dynamic campaign is much more important.

I seem to remember people posting that SH2 had a 'Love Boat' type cruise ship that you could run into from time to time.

I never would have seen it but sonar reported it as a warship. I listened but couldn't hear anything but they insisted something was there so I went up for a look.

Horrors!!!

If I may ask, what area were you in?

Arr, thankee - always good to know when and where you might encounter the Dutchman.

I have seen it in the Celebes Sea right in the middle of a clear moonless night, pretty spooky!

I just saw the Flying Dutchman for the first time this past weekend. It was in the Luzon Strait in August '44. I had just finished sinking a bunch of Japanese shipping and the patrol aircraft were out looking for me. As I was watching the Dutchman through my 'scope, I observed a Betty make a bombing run on her

The bombs fell long, so I can't say what would have happened if they had fallen accurately
