Default Sept 14, 1939 War Over?

Just completed a nice patrol in GWX 2, over 77k ton sunk including the HMS Hood, and 2400+ Renown, I return to port and upon leaving the sim (i didn't promote anyone or do any upgrades as of yet) this is what I see:

This is the 2nd time i've had issues with saves. The first time I was midway thru patrol one, came back the next day, went to load and saw no saves to choose from on the screen. They did exist in the folder. Is this a known issue or something new that has popped up?

Unfortunatly they seem to be hardcoded bugs which do have semi work arounds.

Dont save near ships land and home port i forget the distance

Be on the surface

Alternate between SAVE game and SAVE & EXIT

Do 2 saves

Its a case of whatever works for you the best

Hehehe.. well I'll go back to the last save and try again. I didn't save anywhere near port, as I just sailed straight thru across the North Sea to home port and entered the port. Hopefully it works next time.

You need to alter one of the config files to show 'war ended=false', or something like that. Someone else might know the specific file, I can't remember.

I've tried everything and it still does that, even when i dock at the port physically and start out on a new mission and save while out at sea. But i did discover when i go to restart SH3 commander, it says I "retired" but if i click on it, it says i can come out of retirement and it loads up the current save on patrol 2. Weird.

All i can think of is i was given the option to retire having sunk a capital ship on my 1st patrol

Tool.

Any help on this is appreciated...

Did you sink the ships before the war was officially declared by any chance? Cause if you did, it could've docked enough renown for neutral sinkings to get you kicked out :p

(Hey, they could've easily blamed you for starting a war with britain if that was the case! Wouldn't that be an ugly accusation...)

Also, do you use Commander? Did you update Commander files? Do you check "realistic career length" in it?

The ports were Red when i attacked them, so i know we were at war, plus a destroyer was hunting me further up the canal the day before and I sunk it.

Yes, i use commander. I have the GWX 2 files and no i did not check realistic career length.

Doesnt it has something to do with the 'realistic career length' option in SHIIIcommander?

I'd like an answer to that also, as i don't have it checked.. and never did in other versions of GWX. I did manage to revive my career because Commander set me as retired and continued on patrol 2, sinking 3 destroyers so far that harrassed me near Scapa flow.

Almost didn't make it back to port on Patrol 1 either.. fuel tank was on fumes, and this run to AM19 will be another long haul with little gas to spare.
