Its interesting to note that on shot 4 (the one with the controls) the dials on screen do not seem to correspond with the hud settings. The revs dial shows 2800 whilst the telegraph on the hud is at "Stop" and the compass does not seem to align with the compass on the HUD. hopefully the scene dials etc are functional and not just eye candy, that would be disappointing.

Again, why the Atlantic? Why not the Pacific? Grr!
Or better yet, why not both?

We barely even get the Atlantic, we have the North Sea, English Channel, and the Black, Baltic Seas.

According to Akella they plan to have a Pacific addon later. Apparently the market for sims is huge in Akella's native Russia which is why the sim is focussed initilally on the areas where Russian forces were most active.

Between this sim and BOB Storm of War it's hard to say which one is more frustrating. They both have been teasing us for years now with no firm release date. By the time KOS is released it'll probably be obsolete.

I'll still get it anyway even without dynamic missions but.....

Oh well, at least we can't level the charge that they have pushed it out the door too soon like Ubisoft and SH4. I just hope that there is enough actual simulation left in the game to satisfy us all.

Why doesn't Ubisoft release a PT Boat add on for the engine presently being used for SH IV . . . maybe even a DD add on . . . really populate the sea then . . . and then people can host online servers . . . imagine the possibilities.

Sorry I am getting ahead of myself with ideas I have no idea on how to implement.

Uncle Oleg may have just what you are looking for....

From a chat with Oleg Maddox on the sukhoi.ru forum

"AviaForum: Is it possible to organize combined server for many players?

OM: New engine allows to organize combined are for many players. If we get support from the publisher, we are ready to release MMO simulator based on BOB, where not only planes will be controlled by the players, but also tanks, cars, vessels, submarines, basically all elements of warfare that are present in the sim."

Read the whole chat At the Ubi forums

The only problem that I see is time of travel, on an MMORPG setting, there would be no time compression . . . you'd have to have alot of automation between encounters . . . otherwise . . . real time speeds would kill the enjoyment of this type of genra . . . unless they compress distances.
