Default AA-guns on deck-gun.....

I have the SH4 gold edition witch contained a recognition manual. In the back pages of this book it looks like some of the subs have 3 AA-guns fittings and only one deck-gun, with one of the AA-guns on the deck in front of the conning tower.
Is this just for teasing or is it possible?

Good question, I dont think thats possible. I too have seen that and I have seen a pic where the sub had two deckguns! I would rather have that working...

Its strange that they take these pictures, ingame, and then its not possible to play like that...

Well, two deck-guns is working. What i would like is to replace one of the deck-guns with a AA-gun and have 3 AA-gund. The aft and front in the conning tower and the one in front of the C-tower down at the deck.

I tried to find any facts about how many AA-guns real subs had, became intrested myself. Couldnt find anything about 3 AA-guns...but all the pics and facts I found shows two at most. I dont think they used more than that...not during WWII anyway.

Wierd... Looking at the 1944 edition of the gato and it have two 1-man AA-guns, one 40mm flak-gun at the aft part of the C-twr and a deck-gun at the aft deck.
And the 1943 edition of the Sargo class, a deck-gun at the fore deck two 20mm AA-guns at the fore and aft C-twr and a 20mm at aft deck.
Is it just for show in the book?

german U-boats as far as i know
by late war
carried 3 flack guns
and sometimes a big vierling flak gun where the aft deck gun in us boats would be.

so it did happen in ww2 atleast for the germans

Yes, the typeIX flak-gun. I`ve seen it on some videoclips for SH3.
But i want it on SH4 too....Well, probobly not happening anyway.
But just a little change of course. What AA-guns is working best? The 40mm flak or the 20mm machinegun?

You could probably produce any kind of mix of guns via editing the ActiveUserPlayerUnits.upc of the correct savegame in My Documents/SH4. If you wanted the changes to occur as a part of the current upgrade system, then you'd have to edit files in SH4/Data/UPCUnitsData.
