It annoys me a lot that SHIII engine does not track the sinking of warships, so that ships I already sunk keep spawning again in the following missions of a career.
I understand this is due to the fact that ships spawn according to a fixed roster, which is not influenced by campaign events. I wonder if this could be a "manual" workaround to the problem: - Use SH 3 Commander with the option "Use real ship names in patrol logs" - Make a copy of the "Roster" folder, strip it of all subfolders but the "sea" ones and make that a "mod" for the MODS folder of JSGME - Activate your "mod" via JSGME - When in port after a mission, rollback SH 3 Commander, deactivate the "mod" via JSGME, alter the *.cfg files of the warships you have sunk, matching the names with SH 3 Commander data. You should modify the DOD= value to match with "your" sinking date EXAMPLE Suppose you have sunk the HMS Revenge on oct. 12, 1942. Pick the BBRevenge.cfg file and modify it like this ----------------------------- [UnitClass] ClassName=BBRevenge UnitType=11 AppearanceDate=19160316 DisappearanceDate=19480301 DisplayName=Revenge Class [Unit 1] Name=HMS Revenge DOC=19160316 DOD=19480901 replace this with 19421012 [Unit 2] Name=HMS Royal Oak DOC=19160616 DOD=19391014 ... ------------------------------ then save the file in your "modded" "Roster" folder and reactivate the "modded" folder via JSGME. - Launch again SH3 Commander and on your next mission that particular ship shouldn't be able to spawn any more. Do you think this could work, kaleuns? Gute Jagd Buhring |
