Multiplayer on ONE sub

Yes, this has been my dream since 2005. Has anyone discovered how to place 2 or 3 players into a single U-Boat? I know it would likely involve the Multiplayer.ACT file and would likely require some imaginative testing with the multiplayer missions files design. Likely its impossible. But IF it could be done – then think – instead of playing multi missions where you may be separated from the other players by distance and action, you could begin to create perhaps a real crew of officers.


If three or four players could be brought in to share the same boat, they could take over certain roles and by using perhaps mods turn off certain of their keys and abilities force the creation of a team. So for example, one player could take over as commander, controlling the helm and periscopes. Another could take over just the weapons systems and calculating angles and so forth. Another player could take over crew assignments and repair. Another player could take over radio and sonar! Think about just that – you could actually have a real person listening to the sonar and giving real updates to the captain.


Of course I can already see problems, where would this virtual U-boat exist? Likely its impossible or would be something only the Devs could do. But if this could be done, Ubi would see all its games FLY OFF THE SHELVES faster than they could stock them in stores or on the net.


I gave up on multiplayer subs long ago. It wasn’t really a multi-experience. But if I could crew on one sub with one or several guys – that would be a true shared experience and cooperative venture.

That would be an amazing experience indeed....I'd pre-order it in a second if there was one in development!

in other games like Red Orchestra I took great pleasure in being a member of a Tiger or Panther tank crew. I even enjoyed just being a hull machinegunner and with three crewmen we could sure do some major damage.
