Default RFB patch 1.4 out for ROW . . . and stock!!

Well, it looks like we finally get what I consider our first major milestone for RFB.The first combined release release of the 1.4 (Release candidate, not final) version is done.

Both versions that we were working on are now posted in available for download. If you are using ROW, then continue with the RFB for R0W release.

However, if you're one of those people that choose not to use ROW, for whatever reason, there is now the RFB for stock release.

Either one of these should be compatible with lurker's Run Silent Run Deep campaign (that is as soon as he releases the new RFB version). However, RFB still contains all the campaign modifications installed by Beery in 1.3 and earlier until RSRD for RFB is released.

You will need to be in port if your playing a campaign before installing either one of these mods.

It's important to note for everyone, that both versions contain all the same fixes that have been released since 1.3. Besides the improvements to the game that RFB was developed for, it's also a one stop shop if you want play something with all the user fixes.

Because of the focus of RFB, it should make it easy to maintain compatibility for graphics mods, and campaign mods. However, you'll need to be careful when using alternative order bars because the necessary changes made for each type of bar may over write some of the RFB modifications in the menu file other than the order bar.

This is still considered a release candidate, because there's more sensor work Luke wants to do, and there are some other things I would like to do with this before calling it a final release. Plus, you never know what might crop up.

So good luck, and good hunting.!!

Of course this throws up a new question, should we have one thread of for all of RFB and ask the moderator's to change the title of the other thread, or will we need two separate threads. For now, if you follow the link below, it will take you to all the different versions. You have your choice of either a 7 zip file, or a self extracting zip.

Important note

This release includes the recent fixes for the camera shake mod, the depth charge bug founded in the IJN mod, and also fixes the hidden buttons issue when working in 1024 X 768 Resolution. I had to remove a few buttons in order to get this to work. So you do not need to download the new fixes that came out in the last couple of days.

Modified metal HUD

You'll find a different look to the metal HUD that was installed earlier. Being an ex swabbie, I'm used to seeing things either painted, chrome, or brass in order to keep them from rusting. Since this game is set in World War Two, I decided to go for the brass look. Let me know what you think.

Targeting fix is included, but optional. Please read if you are going to use this
We're including CapnScurvy's new targeting fix. The reason this is optional, is because this requires using a normal sized telescope texture file. Because of the way the game calculates mast heights, using a high-resolution texture will throw the measurements off. So if use his mod, you need to stick with the standard sized textures that are included in RFB.

If you like using the various high resolution textures for scope, do not install the targeting fix mod.

Here arew some of the modifications with the HUD and oakgroves periscope panel
