Default Gameplay settings

Hi Everyone,
I'm using 1.4 and cannot put in the gameplay settings I want. I want to use Limited air, fuel, realistic reloads, no stabilized view etc. Each time I set them then start the game I find I am not using fuel. I come out of the game, look at gameplay settings and find they have reverted to what appear to be stock settings. Can this be fixed?

Are you trying to change them for a career patrol? If I remember correctly you can only change realism settings for career patrols when you are in port.

Default Same problem

I had the same problem and I'm not sure if it was caused by TM/RSRD mod or when you select "Easy" or "Normal" etc for skill level.

When you are in port, in the 'office' (where you select your crew and sub equipment etc), you'll notice up on the shelf on the left, a radio. Click on that to bring up Options and try setting them from there. I think this is where it overrides the main menu gameplay options.

The "problem" is a stock SH4 feature, and has nothing to do with either TM or RSRDC.

The game offers the ability to set game play settings for everything except a career in the main menu screen, and within a career you click on the options tab in the office.

As TDK said, when you are in the office with your smoking coffee, to the left on the bookshelf is a radio. Click on that to set up you career play. This will save it from save to save.

Yup that radio gets overlooked more than any other 'feature' of this game. I think we see this question on average once or twice a week.

Cant imagine why :hmm:

As a matter of course it should be one of the FIRST things you do as you start a new carrier.

Yeah, I kept calling it a book and you so aptly told me it was a darn radio. Looked like a book to me

There is a way to modify the gameplay settings. Just look for the file called gameplay in the main folder and open up with notepad and there you can say change fuel in Normal Difficulty from false to true. Just remember to make a backup copy first.
