Interesting. The left in this country seem to have done a fantastic job of burying the historical fact that it is the Democrat party that is racist , insisted on segregation (Robert KKK Byrd, Fritz Hollings, Al Gore Sr, and even Bill Clintons mentor J William Fulbright) and it was the votes of Republicans that got black americans civil rights. I wonder how many people know that following the Civil War, 23 blacks (13 of them ex-slaves) were elected to Congress, all as Republicans. The first black Democrat was not elected to Congress until 1935, from the state of Illinois. The first black congressional Democrat from a Southern state was not elected until 1973. It amazes me to no end that Democrats have managed to trick black americans into voting against the one party that was founded by anti-slavery activists. Also, most don't know that the founder of planned parenthood, Margeret Sanger, was a believer in eugenics and a devout racist who created the "Negro Project" designed to sterilize unknowing black women and others she deemed as undesirables of society. This group is a large backer of the Democrat party today. Something to think about........

There have been multiple flips between the standings of the democrats and republicans, besides the important issue is the issues and where they stand, not on the history the party.
