Default Smoke: great smoke & no AA or poor smoke & AA enabled. Help!

Hi. Is there any way to have AA enabled AND have good thick smoke (like Sober's mod..)....or am I doomed to have to make a choice between good smoke...and jaggies everywhere..or no jaggies and indian smoke signal smoke? Anyone got an answer? (I am using Nvidea unfortunately....no choice there I'm afraid)

Anyone else using AA AND Sober's mod successfully? Or do you all have to choose?

Grateful views.

Regards,

I have a similar issue although it doesn't look too bad from a distance up close you see the fluffy round puff balls of smoke that look unrealistic.

I'd also like to find out how to fix it.

It's adaptive AA which causes the problem you describe (on my ATI card at least). You should be able to enable AA and disable adaptive AA, and then you'll be fine.

Hey OLC....have to say thank you for the fantastic mod you made...it is really amazing...and brought me back from SH4. Well done.

Re the 'adaptive AA'...hmmm...not sure what u mean here. In my Nvidea control panel, I only have antialiasing filtering and setting...I have no 'adaptive AA' to turn off. Where can I find it?

Thanks for your suggestion.

Nimo read here about how to setup your NVsettings.

You will see my settings and some others. This should help you beef your eye candy graphics in game.

Tks for suggestion, Wolfehunter....I since fugured out (read somewhere) that transparency AA = adaptive AA in ATI. Turned it off as suggested by OLC, but didn't make any difference; still got crap smoke. So...still stuck with hard choice of AA or bad smoke..or no AA (lloks bad) and good smoke.
