Is it OK to add or remove ships from any of the country Rosters? Does it cause a problem in a campaign if you REMOVE ships? What, if anything, do I need to do besides move the .cfg file to the appropriate roster?
I'd like to add more of the older looking, smaller SH4 merchants to smaller country rosters like Honduras, Brazil, Argentina, Egypt, New Zealand etc. and remove some of the more 'generic' ships like Large Tanker, C2, C3 and Large Merchant. To me the generic large ships represent bigger countries like the US an Britain and don't belong in the small country rosters. Any help is appreciated. ![]() |

You can add as many different ships as you like to any roster
Removing them is a bit difficult You will also need to remove ALL references to the ship you are removing from the campaign files for that country IE If you take the C2 out of say New zealand and you come across this group [RndGroup 911.RndUnit 2] Class=KLS Type=102 Origin=NewZealand Side=0 CargoExt=1 CargoInt=0 CfgDate=19390101 No=1 Escort=false SpawnProbability=25 CrewRating=3 Or this docked unit [Unit 5490] Name=Medium Merchant#1 Class=KLS Type=102 Origin=NewZealand Side=0 Commander=0 CargoExt=1 CargoInt=0 CfgDate=19380101 DeleteOnLastWaypoint=true DockedShip=true GameEntryDate=19380101 GameEntryTime=0 GameExitDate=19451231 GameExitTime=0 EvolveFromEntryDate=false Long=20461496.000000 Lat=-5506208.000000 Height=0.000000 Heading=46.660286 Speed=0.000000 CrewRating=3 DelayMin=0 ReportPosMin=-1 ReportPosProbability=100 RandStartRadius=0.000000 NextWP=0 The game will more than likely CTD |

Thanks for the answer...I suspected as much....I actually found out thru trial and ERROR(!) and was looking for confirmation!
Here's another question: Since I dislike the stock SH3 merchants so much and want to try & eliminate them entirely.... Is it possible to 'fool' the SH3/GWX Campaign layers by re-naming some of the newer/older looking SH4 ships so that the campaign layer will 'see' the correct ship but load a different one....i.e. Rename the KLSSHakusika CFG to C3Cargo so that the Hakusika, instead of the C3Cargo, appears in any scripted situation the campaign layer calls for? Forgive me if this is a stupid question... Somebody from the GWX team, is this a viable solution? Or am I missing something? |

Tis ALL files in the sea folder that need renaming as the original As well as the class name within the cfg You have PM |
