I was wondering if it is possible to change the medals that are awarded to you? Let me explain:
On my first mission (beginning of the war) I managed to sink 4 ships and was awarded a "lousy" Bronze Star. In RL skippers were awarded the Navy Cross for just claiming they have sunk 1 ship.
So I was wondering if it is possible to edit some files to get the Navy Cross?

I posted this question in the mod forum as well, but I thought that more people will see it here.

Don't worry, you'll probably rack up more medals in SH4 than all rl subskippers combined.

The tonnage scored ingame is just outrageous compared to rl. I think I've gotten the Medal of Honor for every patrol on my current career(100% relism, TMaru, RSRDC).

That is the problem. It's easier to get the Medal of Honor then to get a Silver Star or the Navy Cross.
I was really surprised when I read "Silent Victory" and learned that most skippers would be awarded the Navy Cross for a patrol deemed "successful". Therefore I believe that the player should be awarded the same medal.
