Now I know...

Now I know why some of you guys play with manual TDC enabled. I just bagged my first ship with manual TDC. I downloaded Hitman's manual and loaded the Midway quick mission and directly sunk a Shokaku. This is really a great feeling!
As a special treat here's a nice screenie for you (especially for Hitman- Your manual is just great!!!!)

Yeah, you feel like you accomplished something! Much more engrossing to play manual.

Ships are so long that you can afford to be off by a _lot_ in your estimates and still score hits. It makes guessing a deadly option, especially at close range. Manual targetting all the way!

Default Welcome to the fold!

Congrats Hyperion, that's a mighty nice prize. It'll look mighty fine mounted on your wall at home. Make sure you use a first-class taxidermist.

What's that in the background (left side) that's burning?

Default nice

that looks sweet. makes me want to try manual, as i have yet to do so. So far my view has been, i am the captain and the crew should do all the work. that said most of my shots are within 1500 yds. this thread has made me rethink my views though.

That was a heavy cruiser, Takao class I think. Navy bombers damaged her badly.

@MONOLITH: I actually fired a spread of 6 fish, just to be sure I sink it.

@claybirdd: That was my thought as well, but it got boring. With manual TDC disabled sinking Japanese ships is like shooting fish in a barrel. Now my I hopefully will sink less ship which means that I don't get the MOH almost every patrol.
