Default To apply for a transfer or not?

It's getting to be late '41 in my current career. Can't decide if I should upgrade to a IXC and poke around the Carib, or scale back and try the med in a VIIC. Renown isn't a problem either way. I've got enough to buy a XXI if they had one ready for me. I've got a great crew, and even Bernard seems to be shaping up. So what say you cats?

Personally I'd get the IXC and head for those warm carib waters, but that's just me. I love the whole idea of slamming an eel or two into a tanker off the florida coast. I always think that there could be a bunch of people on shore watching her burn. I read about how people would actually sit on the beach and watch the fires, so it gives me a little ego rush to recreate that

I once transferred by accident to some godforsaken base out in the far east, Constanza I think.

It was like a wooden pier an a few rowboats and took a month of navigating through streams just to get to the Med....

BUT, I did find the Med a target rich enviroment.

It seemed like every convoy had a big liner, a troop ship and a few escorts. Small convoys with big payloads.

Alas Black olives and figs were not fer me ... I longed for the the Nord Atlantischer. So I didnt stay long. The commute was ridiculous anyways

So I reloaded an earlier patrol.

More or less, what do you want?

Paradise and renown?

OR

Hell on Earth and renown?

Personally I'd take the Carrib,I like the idea of the long haul with the lads in the sub listening to the gramaphone and it is a rich enviroment to go hunting, the Med is good hunting as well or so I'm told but the air cover is supposed to be hell:hmm: do what all pirates used to do of old and head down to the Med

Don't do a transfer if you're inebriated, did that one night and accidentally transferred to Bergen; decided to try and take her out and kept hitting and scraping the seabed :rotfl:

Do it becuase the sea is open for kills. Carribean is a nice place to relax and sink anything that wants to go to the US.

Default A quick guide

you like
*) long trips over the ocean (TC 4096 )
*) quiet skies
*) surface attacks
*) shooting ducks

-> go for IXC in the carrib

or
*) short in/out patrols
*) lots of targets
*) lots of warships who think your targets should not be targets at all

-> go for VIIC in the med

I think the Med is great, but it's not too realistic (of my own making) for me because I'm loathe to part with my Type IX

Well I'm probably going to miss my IX but after over a year I still haven't given the Med a go. Besides the warmongering Brits need to learn that they are never safe form my wrath. I might be a little nicer if they would start leaving a few cases of Scotch behind after sinking like the ballast-slime they are.

You might be grateful one day after having been fished out of the water by one of them 'ballast-slime' for a drink of said Scotch to warm yer through :hmm:

Quite possibly, but they will have to catch me without being caught themselves first. A situation that I shall avoid admiralbly. As long as I don't pull a Bernard that is.

By then I'll be confined in a nuthouse. But at least I'll have a nice warm jacket.

Why dont you go to Brest. Then you have on your knees both med and North Atlantic. With milk cows you can reach even New York( an easy and target rich port to raid).
