Default Anti-porn software

Can someone offer me a little advise. My $%!*^@ cousin(roomie) can't get it through his pinhead to stay off the porn sites when I'm not around, so I want to block it out. I went through the Internet options in controls and did it that way but it doesn't block ****. I don't need that clown getting a virus or spyware on my PC(I do have antivirus and Spysweeper installed, but don't want to chance it). Any advise is helpful. Thanks

Get some form of nanny-ware . . . those will limit their websurfing options when its activated.

If you want less chance of it happening, move the computer into an open part of the home (lounge room, living room, etc.), so others can see what he's up to, and he will also have less chances of looking up anything unseemly!

PC Magazine's Buying Guide: Parental Controls. It's from last year but still applicable.

No, he's one of those "who, me?" kind of cowards. He denies it even after I showed him the History(he doesn't know it can be deleted) Waiting on a better job so I can move the **** out of here, THAT will piss him off. To bad really, it's a decent place to live, but I really am starting to HATE him. To bad he's my cousin.

Why don't you just limit access to your system in general by using an access code? that way he cannot use your machine at all. that's why I would do if somebody uses my system and I see him dojng silly stuff, and see him denying it, and see him telling lies. If you canÄ't trust them, then you can't trust them. Play the safe card then, don't waste time with half-hearted measures.

You could also put the launching exe of all browsers you use in a folder that you lock with a codeword. there is software available to do that. Free version of it allows locking of four folders. I try to find it.

Here it is:

http://www.folderaccess.com/

And another possebility of which I am not sure if it could be done: install your browser on a USB stick, and give yourself for the system administrator rights that exclude all other users from installing software. That way you cannot start a browser on your system without having the USB stick, and other browsers he cannot install.

If he does this while you are gone at work, I'd suggest taking your keyboard with you after powering down the computer. It won't restart w/o the keyboard. Or you could even hide your power cord to the computer. Is he computer literate? If not, unplug the case cabling to the motherboard. You could also create a 'guest' account with limited permissions for him and p/w protect your account. You didn't mention which version of IE you have and I'm not that familiar with IE 7's features.

I would hide keyboard or mouse, but he's like a child. He would clip wires or mess up something in my tower, and if I beat his ass(easy) he'd cry to the police. Looking for a new place now.

Just password your computer. Shut it down when you are not around. Tell him to go buy his own 'Windows To The Porn World' at the computer store.
