Default Your final SH3 career game

With SH4 not far away, some of us are probably going to drop SH3 like a lead brick, but after months of playing, i can't help but feel the need for a final ride on this ole plowhorse called SH3, but the questions... what?

edit:

Im stuck between 1 and 2. I've always wanted to do a realistc career with U505, but ive its basically the same gameplay ive always done. so 2 is appealing. I'd be amiss to not play the type21 at all, and havent touched it in well over a year now.

I'll be playing SH4 in the blue Pacific too...but I have every confidence I'll be re-visiting the grey Atlantic at times. I find no WW2 naval theater uninteresting for long. Just hope they don't come up with a Japanese midget sub sim. Underwater kamikaze doesn't appeal very much.

I will always play Sh3, U-boats have a feeling that no way the pacif theatre has.

ahh i disagree, although i like the Uboats. Yet i think SHIV is going to be a winner - more things to do in patrols, like rescue down pilots, taking scope shots of ports ,<-- im guessing on that last statement., Pacific Aces mod for SHII was a blast from the past and really prolonged the game back then just like what GW is doing now for SH3.

Out in the pacific in a Gato is going to be a good change.

Nor will i delete SH3 she'll still be on my hdd just in case i need an atlantic fix.

For me it will porbably be GWX for a long time in the future. I am interested in the Pacific theater (not as much as in the Atlantic though) but I will not pay good money to buy a half-made game by Ubisoft again. Also i am not willing to upgrade my computer just to play a game. Hopefully at some point in the future when SH4 is heavily moded and bug free I might get tempted, but until that day is GWX all the way for me.

I went for nr 4. Have little interest in submarine operations in the PTO (I spent a lot more time with Carriers at War and Uncommon Valor there) and anyway it would mean PC upgrade or new machine which is not planned for now.
Also would hardly find time for another game these days (besides SH3 which I wouldn't stop anyway, still messing around with Combat Mission Pbems, online Falcon 4 AF and IL2 flights, and playing again Operation Flashpoint with last FFUR2007/SLX mod...)

I'll be playing SH4. Can't wait to set my mission editor with two oppising battleships. Should make for some nice screens. But I'm not the right to be speaking here, as I haven't toucher SH3 since the first week of GWX Beta testing

Pacific doesn't interest me one little bit. A U-Boat has a certain romanticism to me [and yes, 'romanticism' is probably not the right word] but more of a 'feeling' that I just wouldn't get in the Pacific no matter what 'bells and whistles' SH4 had to offer.

I'm looking forward to 4 but and heres the but i have always been a big u-boat fan so i will be using a 4 as im bored and want a change type of game. The pacific theatre was kinda like ww2's version of space invaders fire a fish any where and you would sink a jap tub, the atlantic theatre was much more involved bring on the wolf pack

I said this just the other day on a similar thread: I will probably love SH4, but I won't stop playing SH3 until a newer, greater version comes out.

For one I intend on waiting for some of you to beta test SH4 and help UBI make the patches so when I buy it (for less money by then) ir will be greatly improved.
But, my big part of the CFS3-MAW project is at hand so will likely not be doing much SH3 before I join the US Navy hoping to hide my U-Boat German accent.
Are you an American, sir,
Ja, Ich bin Amerikaner! errrr I mean Babe Ruth sure as shootin I'm a Yank!!!

I do hope to finish this 1940 started GWX-SH3 career which is in the Spring of 43 now and it may be my last.
I may prefer the U-Boats but the better graphics and improved game will likely win me over.
Still, to date SH3 is the best game I have ever played and even though GWX is better the careers in my highly tweaked TGW will be the best careers in any game I have ever done.

Let us not forget an important point for a future U-Boat sim.

SH4 must be a success to insure that next back to the Atlantic SH5.:hmm:
