Will be interedting to see what the political fallout will be over this.
I am sad to see this happen. It's a high risk job and they have made a difference over there. My thoughts are with his family and fellow soldiers. |

The fallout will be good old Krudd saying 'oh this never would've happened if I were pm cos they would be home in bed tucked up by 730, wearing cotton wool to protect them even more.'
Which will be followed by a huge swing in his favour on the 2 party preferred polls. Read some of the comments on news.com.au, its frightening, if it comes to it you'd think that some people would happily give up oz to any old invading country because it would be wrong to fight them! Seriously though, I do think that krudd will milk this for all its worth. |

Interesting feedback from the public: http://blogs.smh.com.au/newsblog/arc...ay/015977.html
Howard and Downer predictably using this to reaffirm Australian committment to both Afghanistan and Iraq. http://media.smh.com.au/?rid=32275 http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/...695882861.html http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/...695874684.html Only word from Rudd I've found says they will be staying put in Afghanistan: http://www.worldnewsaustralia.com.au...40547®ion=2 |
