Default Graphics glitch?

Hi all,

I recently upgraded my computer and got an Asus 8600GT video card. I have an issue in SH4 when viewing parts of ships that are underwater, the parts seem to be edged with a white color.

In this screenshot you can see the effect around the subs propellers etc. I am using the latest Nvidia drivers (163.71) and am patched to 1.3. Has anyone else ever seen this and know how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm at a loss.

You might want to uninstall your Nvidia drivers and put another fresh driver install in. Did you install DirectX 9.0c off the SH4 dvd? It's a newer version of 9.0c than I had before and I was getting some bad stuff happening when I first installed SH4 and opted out of 9.0c because I thought I had the latest. I was wrong.

Where is this shot taken ?

This problem is a SHIV bug near land.
It can be found in the training missions and in and around harbours.

I have it too..
I am not sure, but I thought it came with the first patch and has something to do with AA and AF.

:hmm:

I've never seen it myself even near land and I'm using the same drivers on a 7900GS. I've even used a couple different Nvidia drivers and not had that issue.:hmm:

I believe this was introduced with the patch that gave us functioning Anti-aliasing and high res.

It has something to do with a combination of AA and the environmental effects option, IIRC.

We all have it.

But for the little that you actually see it, it's worth all the other visual goodness.

Ahh, ok, guess it's just something I have to live with. I had tried different drivers to no effect. The screenshot was taken in the navigation tutorial, I've noticed it seems to go away when you're at sea.

Thanks for the answers chaps!
