Default Problem with sound

Hi

I have a big problem with the sound.

In accelerated time, if I have a contact, or a radio message, the time back to normal speed. Then, some sounds loop, like explosions, or blows of hammer. I am obliged to save, to leave the play.

In the audio options, the 3D sounds are Off. I've the same problem with my X-fi card or the chipset Soundmax on my motherboard (Asus P5N32-E sli with 2 Go Ram ).

I hope you understand, sorry for my english, It's difficult to explain the problem

Somebody has the same problem ? I've you a solution ?

I would suggest that you download the latest drivers from Creative for your X-Fi soundcard and see if that helps.

Heres a link to their support page...

http://us.creative.com/support/

Also...you might try turning down the sound acceleration a bit.

Oh..almost forgot...Are you playing SH 4 patched to v1.3?
If not...do so because that patch solved some of the very sound problems you describe, ( looping sounds, etc.)

Cheers!

Sound looping seems to be an issue with most. I got it with SH3 as well. Mostly it is the music that is looping. What is happening at hight TC, you hard drive is attempting to create the whole virtural submarine world and play music all at the same time. Kind of brings things to a grinding holt.

What are the specs of your computer? Reason I asked is by adding 1 more gig of RAM to my rig, my hard drive stopped file swapping acting RAM. When it does this it creates your looping noise.

Also, if you go into high TC while a noise or sailor is talking, when you come out of the high TC...he completes his sentence. Apparently just a ill of the game design. Heck, a sailor will call out ship spotted at 1000 and you just TC'd to 1600 and the sailor is still talking about a ship spotted since 1000.

In my experience with the game you can't. It all has to do with using TC. Anyone else not getting this issue? Like I stated, if you go into high TC while a sailor has just finished talking or is in the middle of talking, once you drop back to 1x he will say it again or complete what he was saying.

Just one question, are you using a sound mod of any sort?

I'm on Xp, but haven't I been hearing that there are issues with gaming sounds with Vista? Someone with Vista will know, and I believe there are workarounds as well.

I guess in my post above I should have asked about Vista...
Which I am using with no major problems....

As far as reducing sound acceleration...It's still not supported for Vista in Nvidia's latest drivers...so there's no way to know if that might help this situation.

I need to know if he's patched SH 4 to V1.3..... I understand that some sound issues such as looping and delayed sound effects, like explosions repeating were delt with. At least thats what I read in the readme that was released with the patch.

Cheers!

I don't use sound mods. However, I use a mod with some sounds : Trigger Maru 1.6 .

I should try with no mod, Maybe :hmm:.

Yes a try would rule out this as the problem. I do recall that patch 1.2 I had crackling noises and some noises missing all together. I installed 1.3 right over everything but the noise issue was still the same. If I remember correctly I did a complete reinstall and all was well after that.
