It is not a bug but a GWX feature. The GWX-guys made a JSGMEready neutral buoancy mod

Default Hmm

I have the opposite problem...my boat will not hold depth at 180 meters & deeper...it gradually sinks if I'm running at 'Schleichfahrt' speed.

I have to speed up to at least 3 knots to maintain depth and then I'm always detected by the escorts. Is THIS a feature of GWX?

No that is more like NYGM behaviour and the way a real UBoat would behave. The pressure hull is compressed -> the air volume is reduced -> the hydrodynamic upforce decreases the boat sinks and you have to create dynamic upforce by increasing speed
Are you running DUCIMUS flavoured to taste mod ?
In the final release you can select between positive negative or neutral buoancy.
But if you are familiar with the MiniTweaker you can easyly modify this to fit your needs.

Could also be "crash dive blues." Search for that phrase in the forums. Has to do with issuing a depth order before leveling off after a crash dive. If you don't let the boat get to crash dive depth before issuing another order, boat will have difficulty maintaining depth at low speeds.

I have in my mods folder a U-boat-neutral bouyancy mod, but I cannot remember where I got it or what it was originally called ( I think I renamed it). I am using JCWolfs U-Boat for GWX1.03 and must have come across this at some point...I am not a big fan of the positive bouyancy either, but I amnot sure whether I can use the GWX neutral bouyancy on top of the U-Boat mod by JCWolf...does anyone know?

I think it may be this 'crash dive blues' thing...this is the first I've heard of it.

The reason I think it may be this is because it doesn't always happen...only sometimes. Makes sense now. Thanks for the info guys.
