Default Rollback SH3 Commander now?

Got this the other day:

after I shut down a carreer and exited the game. The only mod I enabled (aside from those that came packed with gwx1.03) was my custom emblem.
Question: is this a problem and should I roll back any changes made with SHcommander, remove any mods, then re-enable mods and make changes with SHcommander?

The only time you need to Rollback SH3Cmdr is when you want to enable or disable Mods via JSGME.

Yer, that's kindof what I thought, but the last time I played SH3 was about 6 weeks ago, so I can't remember if another mod was enabled back then
I think I'll achieve a clean slate if I roll back SHcommander, un-install the mods/re-install mods, then use SHcommander to change the settings on my career. Again.

Since v2.7 of SH3 Commander, the 'rollback' prompt is an automatic feature.
it is adviseable to perform a 'rollback' each time you finish playing....call it a 'puege' or 'cleansing' operation if you like.
When you next start the game via SH3 Commander it will load your previous information automatically

Thanks guys. Done the deed and discovered that my crew is missing all of their stripes... the texture is missing! hehe and my last jsgme snapshot shows that some of these things have gone awry!
Plus I just got sunk with all hands at the end of '39. Time to start from scratch again I think.

What's the weather like in n'hampton? Is pissing it down here in leic.

I always say no to this prompt purely because I know that I'm certain that I'm not going to install any mods or change the installation of SH3 in anyway before I play SH3 again.

Jimbuna - with reference to your post, I think SHcommander automatically rolls back then re-applies it's settings every time you hit the Launch SH3 button, so no need to carry out a roll back every time you finish playing, perhaps someone could confirm this. Having said that, if you are forgetful then a rollback after playing isn't a bad idea.

SH3 Commander DOES NOT 'ROLLBACK' AUTOMATICALLY

It is considered 'best practice' to do that eavery time you exit the game. Wjen you reload the game via SH3 Commander it will load in the necessary files for you

I think I may have been misunderstood. I can see why rolling back SHcommander after playing could be a safe bet if you apply different mods on a regular basis, but my point was that I don't change my installation from one month to the next, unless of course a major GWX update is released. Therefore, I don't consider it essential to rollback SHcommander after each playing session. When I fired up SHcommander this morning and hit the 'launch SH3 button', at the bottom of the SHcommander window it said it was rolling back its current settings and afterwards said something like applying current settings, then SH3 starts loading. This implies to me that SHcommander rolls back every time you start SH3 via Commander then re-applies your preferred settings before SH3 launches. What it doesn't do is rollback automatically after you exit SH3 and hence the reason for the pop up.

I take your point......what I'm trying to say in effect is 'many of the difficulties people encounter could have been avoided if they had performed a rollback after playing'.
It is always the best safeguard and therefore, IMO 'best practice'.
If for the sake of a 3/5 second operation you are not taking a time proven extra precautionionary step, it is not beyond the parameters of feasibility (based on historical experiences) that you are increasing the chances of experiencing a problem.
At the end of the day....do what you feel most comfortable with

You both are correct.

The first thing SH3Cmdr does when the "Launch SH3!" button is pressed is an auto-rollback.

If you are 500% sure that you will make no changes between sessions, then you can ignore the above prompt and let SH3Cmdr manage the files by itself. However, if you have any doubts or simply don't trust yourself, then it's good practice to manually rollback when prompted. Needless to say, I recommend following the prompt. But each to their own.

JScones, thanks for the clarifying things.
