Default Ship Simulator

Just checking out Ship Simulator 2008 right now. Anybody own this or the 2006 version? Is it any good? Buggy? Varied gameplay? I'm doing research right now but figured I'd ask you guys since you're as good as gold.

An EB game advised me not to buy it, as it was, in her opinion, "A waste of shelf space." She hasn't able to get copies moving, apparently... Which isn't surprising, seeing how she advertises it.

And that was after I'd told her I actually drive ships for a living.

Apparently, the collision model isn't all that great? But I don't know for sure, I haven't tried it.

I haven't tried the collision model IRL yet, but I'm told the damage levels might be a bit high.

There is no collision model in the first release shipsim 2008 ( ships don't sink or get damaged) will be in there next update.

I've got it, and it's decent. It's great if you wanna just tool around for a bit and look at the scenery. Kinda relaxing.

The company does seem to want to cater to thier customers and make a good simulator, which is kinda why I bought it in the first place - to keep them interesting in making the series better. We'll see how that goes....
