KM OH&S Manual, Volume One, Chapter five, Paragraph 12.3, Sub Pargraph (a).

The Kriegsmarine OH&S Manual states

"All U-boat gun crew are to wear head and hearing protection whilst firing the deck gun or AA guns".

Any crew member caught not wearing either/or protection devices will be charged. The Captain of the boat will be repermanded.
