I've modified the original map file 21600_10800.raw to show the declared British minefields. This file has previously not been altered by NYGM.
The new file is DeclaredMinefields.7z, download from: http://hosted.filefront.com/TeddyBar/ The minefields were effective in deterring U-boat attacks, and you should not accept any patrols into areas covered by the minefields. I have always felt that it would be very useful to have the declared minefields marked on the Silent Hunter III map, to avoid accidentally sailing into them and being sunk. The mod does *not* mark un-declared British minefields! Be sure to read the readme file attached. The enormous size of the mod (ca. 31 MBytes *after* ultra-compression with 7-zip), for just one file with a few extra sketches, cannot be justified for addition to a new version of NYGM. If you have a fast Broadband connection, then you may wish to use the mod. Extract the file with 7-Zip or WinRar into your silenthunteriii\mods folder and install it with JSGME in the usual way. Since the original SH3 lacks the large British minefields, this mod serves no function for players of original SH3. The Grey Wolves team have already modified the 21600_10800.raw file for their own uses, so the new mod is unsuitable for GWX users. The new mod would be compatible with Rub 1.44 or 1.45. I don't know about compatibility with other large mods. Stiebler. |

I use the map supplied with vanjast's real nav mod which has longitude and latitude lines on the nav map. Would it be possible to merge these two modfied maps so the lat. & long. lines and the declared minefields are both displayed on the nav map?

@Alex,
Sorry but I don't do screen shots. Last time I tried to upload one to an image-sharing site, I received malware in return. It's not clear to me why a non-NYGM user should want a screen shot. There is far more to NYGM than just this mod, which even I say is so marginal that it is unlikely to be included with NYGM releases. @Klarch, To merge the two map 'raw' files would require very difficult matching of two giant files on-screen, beyond my abilities. If Vanjast (or anyone else) wishes to merge the files, then he has my permission to use my work. Stiebler. |

![]() Thanks anyway for your answer, mate. By the way, do not worry, I know NYGM, I've played it quite a lot a few months ago... And I respect it as much as GWX.
