Default I found the Nelson

And now I want to sink it. I'm in a type IX so I could just dump 6 eels on it. only I think there must be a better way.

How many and where to place the eels? to get a nice clean kill?

GWX btw

That's a BRILLIANT idea :rotfl: :rotfl:

If on the other hand you really want to use your torpedoes you can:
1. Aim under the smoke staks to imobilise the ship then surface and man the Deck Gun :p
2. Aim under the main gun turrets where all the amunition is stored. With a well aimed shot the Battleship should go down like a stone.

I would love it someone did sink the Nelson with a deck gun. In reality you wouldn't last long against it's 9 16" guns.

Your boat would'nt survive one hit from those 16" shells. Bye Bye U-boat.

When I Sank her, I put 6 into her. Several off them had bad guidence or she swerved, they hit the stronger top armor due to heavy seas, but the first four cut her speed to zero.

With escorts trying to kill me, I manuvored underneath her and reloaded.

When I had my stern tube and two of my bow tubes reloaded, she was listing, but no sign of death, so i plowed out at flanked speed, (After waiting for the escorts to be on her other side in their fruitless circles) and put my stern tube on her at 500 meters, hit forward her turrets... She listed a little more...

Before the escorts could get back around to depth charge me, I went back emergency to get underneth her again. Waited for them to circle again, then went back full as fast as I could and put, (By that time I had three eels loaded in the bow) Fired all three at about 600 meters, First Dud, Second Under-run her keel, I had miscalculated the depth I thought she might be listing at, but the 3rd smashed into her creating multiple secondary explotions.

I went down with her as fast as I could, got to around 200 meters, and escape only with minor damage from the escort's side throwers.

Sank the Rodney exactly the same way.

Reminds me of the joke from Top Gun: "Dear mothers - you're boys died because they were STUPID!":rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: I have just recently started enjoying props. and rudders off of ship. . It is quite fun and then if you succeed you can have at it depending on circumstances. Like wait around for escorts to leave and then blast away.
