I know its too early for me since I am in June 1941, but just wondering if any of you have been sunk by aircraft depth charges in the sim ?

I was sunk my very first day playing GWX 1.01!

I was under the impression my U-boat here could withstand gunfire like in stock.... boy was I wrong!

I was jumped and depth charged by a pair of twin engine RAF aircraft near the Shetlands in late Dec '39. Both aircraft missed with their depth charges, but had they been on target, it would have been bad news...

Well, in every mission (28 total) I was several times attacked by planes. In current patrol I menaged to down two Catalinas but earlier I had nearly escaped certain death - four mosquitos with depthcharges. It's february 1943 and belive me ... planes are the worst nightmare .

I've neveractually been sank by an aircraft, but I've had my hull been blown down to 20% by some. I usually get them down or at least dive after their first pass (ofcourse, when able I'll dive as soon as I see them unless they're really close). I'm actually also a XXIalcoholic.. I just like 1944 and being happy to make it out alive from the first patrol..

Sunk by planes? Yes!!
I have been sunk by a measly Stringbag in Sept. -39 And all my attempts in the Med has been ended by planes.
But by depth charges dropped from planes, no I do not think so:hmm: I´ve heard my SO call depth charges in the water, but I have never been hit by them.

Late war allied planes will keep you on your toes, constantly

Yes - sunk by depth charges, bombs, and rockets. First time I saw a rocket I thought my gunners had scored a hit, then realized it was the flash of the acft firing the rocket.

Have been belatedly sunk by acft too - damaged to less than 50%, and then when dive to avoid escorts or other aircraft my weakened hull gives way quickly.
