Gamer gets banned for 7000 years on Xbox Live for hacking into the Halo 3 Beta.

Sneaking on to the CoD4 beta – that earns you a digital slap on the wrist. Cheekily squirreling into the tip-top secret Halo 3 Epsilon beta build – that’s a bit more serious. In fact when it comes to Halo, you probably ought to avoid trespassing as you would the den of an angry she-bear. A now appropriately named gamer, Scar, had snuck his way into the beta build without Microsoft’s express permission using something known as the two-controller exploit. After only a few hours of playing, and without actually getting to play alongside anyone else, Scar found himself banned from Xbox Live until December 31st, 9999.

Speaking to GameSpot, he said "I downloaded it from Marketplace and played it for maybe six hours or so all alone, in custom games and campaign. [Then] it would kick me offline every time i tried to play Epsilon. It wasn't until the next day when I signed on that I found out I got banned."

But so what? All you need is a new Xbox Live account and you’re back in. No biggie, right? Well, unfortunately for Scar – a self-confessed "achievement whore" – he’d racked up a 61,000 point GamerScore, which will now be nothing but his gaming legacy to his great-great-great-great… etc grandchildren. He is making no plans to appeal his ban.
