Originally, a lot of people were using Para Bs tweaked air strikes mod. I don't think the mod ever got updated to be compatible with patch 1.3. Trigger Maru 1.5 certainly contains reduced aircraft as part of the large mod.

I thought it was historically accurate with that many planes, ive just learnt to work around it. Sail submerged during daylight basically

To give you an idea of what the real world was like:
This is what the USS Cod found on its patrols...

First patrol: [Oct 22 1943 - Dec 16 1943] 10 ships 14 aircraft
Second patrol: [Jan 11 1944 - Mar 13 1944] 16 ships 13 aircraft
Third patrol: [Apr 6 1944 - Jun 1 1944] 24 ships 19 air
Fourth patrol: [Jul 3 1944 - August 25 1944] 55 ships 54 aircraft
Fifth patrol: [Sep 18 1944 - Nov 20 1944] 54 ships 117 aircraft
Sixth patrol: [Mar 24 1945 - May 29 1945] 4 ships >170 aircraft
Seventh patrol: [June 26 1945 - August 13 1945]:33 ships Aircraft not mentioned as number but reported as 'few in number'

So annoying...Yes...Accurate...yep I think so...

groetjes,

groetjes,
It would be interesting to compare that to some U-Boat logs from the same time period in the N. Atlantic. With the development of bases on GreenLand, Iceland, the use of B-24's and Shorts Sunderland with sea-scanning centimetric radar, even night time surface cruising offered no safety from air attack. If you go through the listing of losses over at uboat.net, the number listed to "aircraft" shoots up in 1943.

Croikey!

Although, there are usually at least two planes per patrol, so that's 60 and 90 patrols. I probably get 20-30 patrols in mid-1942, and that climbs on up to no more than 50 by early 1944.
