Navy Questions

I have couple of questions and was wondering if any Navy Veteran or anyone else can answer.

How long did a patrol last for that time period? Did they get refitted and go directly back out?

What was it actually like and what happened during down time.

Was there any difference between British, German, Japanese, and American navy as far a conditions go?

Thanks for anyone who answered my curiosity

I'm pretty sure patrols were usually around 60 days, with 2 weeks off in between. The crew would get some R&R (In Pearl, at the Royal Hawaiian hotel on Waikiki) during that time.
