Default map contacts (nice for a MOD?)

Hi guys,

I'm playing with the last release of GWX on 100 % realism.
But i get contacts on my map from time to time, i asume that these are contacts you receive when a ship is spotted by other German ships / U-boats / airplanes?

Would'nt it be great if you would receive a radio message which gives you the coordinates (longitude, latitude) of that ship instead of a black symbol showing up suddenly on your map?
Offcourse the map should be adjusted too, to make it possible to navigate using the longitude-latitude coordinates.
In such a radio message could be more information also, like ship's speed (aprox.) direction, and maybe also which type of ship it is (tanker, cargo, small or large vessel etc.)
I think that this is information which is likely to be known by the one who actually spots this ship.
Like when you see a ship and send a contact report to BDU.

Offcourse, if a lot of people here would like this idea there should be a mod being made.
And here are 2 issues:
1) i can not make mod's (i regret).
2) maybe it can't be done anyway???
People who make mod's probably can tell me if it can (or can't) be done.

If it can be done, would this be a nice idea?
What do you think?

Good hunting,

That would be utopian I agree.....sadly it might not be possible because of the constraints put upon the game by hard coding :hmm:

It would be great, but I don't think it can be done.

Would be nice, and would make the game even more realistic. But I doubt it could be done

I always think it as the contact report being handed form the radio operator to the Nav officer and diligently plotted on the map.

Default thanks!

Ok, thanks for your feedback guys!
Now, at least, i know it can't be done, so i don't have to dream about it anymore ;-)

Maybe a good thing to put on our wishlist for SH5?

And like Nichren said, maybe i have to think of it like my "staff" already received this info and they placed the contact on the map...

Blow 'em to the bottom guys!
