I have several songs in the gramophone folder, but I can only play the first 4-5 songs before they repeat. I've tried to use next song but it only goes back to the first song after playing the 4th or 5th song. Any ideas?

I've not experienced that problem. What audio format are the songs in? If the first ones are in .ogg and others in mp3, it might be that the gramophone is programmed to look for one over the other.
You could try using a good batch converter like MediaCoder ( it's freeware ) to make sure all the tracks are in the same format and have the same sample and bitrates. The audio player in SH IV can be flakey. It's hard-coded, so it's difficult to know exactly what it is and how it's programmed. Have you tried the radio? You can put tracks into a Station folder ( e.g. Program Files/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 4 Wolves Of The Pacific/Data/Sound/Radio/CBS (or whichever file you decide to use) and the radio will play them out at random. I'd try that and see if you still get a repeated tracks problem. If not and if they play out randomly, then the gramophone problem is probably with the tracks you're trying to play. If you have the same problem with the radio as with the gramophone, it's probvably a glitch and may need a re-install. |

It only plays Mp3 I think. I know it doesn't play wave files.

I have both ogg and mp3, and there is no problem with my gramophone.
Have you installed the Mod Gramophone SongRandomizer: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111597 Maybe it could solve your problem ... |

The files are all MP3 files. The radio works fine on the surface just like it is suppose to with about 5 different channels. I'll try and change all the songs again and see what happens. I do have the music turned off on the options screen, but can hear at least the first 4 songs in the gramophone.

Maybe the name of your mp3 files is not compatible (such as name too long or with special characters )
Or maybe are they mp3 pro files ???? |
