Hi all,
Just wondering, one of my basic maneouvres when encountering convoy escorts in deep water is to dive deep and quiet whilst maintaining contact with sonar to get a bearing on a target selected via visual sightings. Does the depth your boat is at affect the Sonar readings in ways such as accuracy, distance, factoring noises (only detects targets running at high speed and not low revs?) Looking forward to getting answers, as on numerous occasions, ill come back up to PD for a snap shot only to realize thetarget is 10 degrees off and 500yrds away from soundings. With regards, Krauter |
